Lakshadweep Tour - These "pearls in the sea" are a group of 36 islands off the south western tip of India in the Indian Ocean. Nurturing a rare biodiversity, the Lakshwadeep Islands are a nature lover's delight.
Several tour packages can be taken to explore these islands, with the most popular ones being the Coral Reef, Marine Wealth Awareness, Taratashi, Diving, and the Swaying Palm. The colorful marine life can be viewed through glass-bottomed boats. While the Dolphin Dive Centre in Kavaratti is popular amongst scuba divers, kayaking, wind surfing and sailing can also be indulged in.
Kavaratti is the administrative capital of the islands, and other inhabited islands include Kalpeni, Minicoy, Kadmat, Chetlat, Bitra, Kiltan, Androth, Amini and Bangaram. Agatti island is connected to Cochin on the mainland by air and sea.
Enjoying a tropical maritime climate, Lakshwadeep can be visited anytime of the year. The islands receive heavy rains from the south west monsoon from June to October.
